Blog # 5
Over spring break i saw alot of racism prsent in our society. For example every time i when to a store i would always notice that the employies were looking at me and my friends the entire time as if they suspected us of doing something.This ussualy only happened when i went to the pricier department stores and it wasnt just the employees . The customers who saw us there looked at us as if thrying to tell us what are we doing in here. This to me is evedence that racism is still alive in our society even with a colored prsident. I believe that there is always going to be some sort of racism in our society because it is human nature to believe that your people are beter that other people.

ReplyDeletewhen i usually go to the mall or other places people dont look at me strange because i am white skin..which helps me for being mexican...heheh..insted of white people looking at me weird..mexican people are the ones looking at me weird because they think i am white..sometimes mexicans talk bad about me not knowing that i know what they are talking about,,and i think is really funny.
I total agree with you, Angel. Even though we have an African-American president, racism still exists!! I mean we can’t do anything about it; it’s not only in The U.S., but racism also everywhere in the world!
ReplyDeleteObama has only been president for a couple months guys. its not magic, racism isn't just going to go away. its going to take generations upon generations for that.
ReplyDeletealso if you go into a store expecting to be profiled and looking for examples of it you are bound to find some. Even if that isnt what they were doing, your going to interpret it that way. give people a chance, they aren't all bad.
As you said I also think that racism is everywhere, and it is difficult to change it because everyone has a different point of view. With Obama as a presidents, it has been shown that anybody can achieve their dreams and we should not be affected by what other think, because if we get too worry about, then it will increase, but i think that racism will always exist.
